Lois Jane Jones

Lois Jane Jones, 84, of Pampa, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 in Amarillo.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, August 20, 2018 at Carpenter’s Church with Rev. Jim Sinyard, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in Plainville Cemetery at Plainville, KS. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Lois was born May 20, 1934 in Galva, Kansas to M.R. and Genievie Arnold. From 1973 to 1978, she was a sheet metal assembler for Beech Aircraft in Amarillo. She married Melvin Jones on July 17, 1981 in Plainville, Kansas and he preceded her in death in 1995. Lois was a greeter at Walmart for 9 years from 1996 until 2005. She loved meeting and visiting the customers as they came into the store. Lois was a member of Carpenter’s Church and loved to cross-stitch, making blankets for her grandchildren, and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Rick Matheson and Roy Matheson; a step-daughter, Shoni Jones; a sister, Liz Chaney; and 3 brothers, Pete Arnold, Bob Arnold, and Darold Arnold.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Donna “D” Palmer of Pampa and Kassi Weavers and husband Cody of Canyon; a son, Kim Matheson and wife Velora of Amarillo; 3 step-sons, Tim Jones of Hays, KS, Shane Jones and Travis Jones both of Stockton, KS; a brother, Larry Arnold of Milwaukee, WI, 19 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
