Lois Thompson, 92, of Pampa, passed away on June 17, 2025, in Pampa, surrounded by her loving family.

Celebration of life services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, June 20, 2025, at Briarwood Church with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

Lois was born on August 21, 1932, in Waurika, Oklahoma to Grady and Flora Guinn. She grew up and later graduated from school in Waurika. One day while taking a walk, and by coincidence, she would meet her true love, Don Thompson, and they later married on March 9, 1951. They raised three children and shared over 61 years of marriage before Don’s passing in 2012.

In 1961, Lois and Don came to Pampa where they raised their children and made a permanent home. Lois worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator before she decided to stay at home with the children. She also worked for the family business, Eagle Radiator Shop, alongside her husband for 25 years, retiring in 1993.

Lois was a godly woman who was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Lois was also a talented musician who could play various instruments that included the organ, piano, and the accordion. She enjoyed working in her garden, and reading, especially her bible. Above all, Lois was a faithful woman who tried her best to serve her Lord and bring anyone she could to Jesus. She will be greatly missed by her children, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Maxine Cole.

Lois is survived by her two daughters, Karen Hannah and husband Adrian, and Becky Hopper, all of Pampa; a son, Kelly Thompson and wife Michelle of Allen; grandchildren, Corey Sublett and fiancée, Angela of McMinnville, OR, Ginny Eliff and husband Matt of Pampa, Jill Henkel of Amarillo, Crystal Varnell and husband Roy of Sayre, OK, Ashley Parker and husband Beau of Ridgefield, WA, Ben Hannah of Pampa, Jessica Thompson of Allen, and Emily Zamarron and husband Joey of Corsicana; greatgrandchildren, Riley, Elizabeth, Rhett, Jackson, Jessica, Emily, Rhyan, Brayden, Lauren, Mia, James, and Scarlet, great-greatgrandchild, Hazel; sister, Polly Johnson and husband Dee of Edmond, OK; niece, Gwyn Gardner and husband Greg of Yukon, OK; sister-in-law, Jerri Kellicut of La Crosse, WI; and other extended family.
