Louise Moss

Louise Moss, 71, of Pampa, passed away on August 4, 2026, with her family by her side.

The family will conduct a private service for Louise at a later date, but Louise will be available for viewing from 3:00 – 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Louise was born on September 30, 1954, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Johnnie and Lillie Marine. She grew up and attended school in the Marlow, Oklahoma area. As a young woman, she shared her early years in both Pampa and Oklahoma.

She would meet the future father of her children, Ignacio Vargas, Jr. and they would marry and start their family. They would later part ways, but their three children always kept them tied together. Louise would find love again when she met and married Stuart Moss and they spent several good years together in Del Rio until his passing.

Louise had many different interests that kept her occupied. She enjoyed crocheting, coloring, playing cards and watching all of her favorite T.V. shows. She also loved to cook and always had a bedtime bowl of ice cream. The most important thing in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. Louise will be remembered as a feisty woman who was very giving and generous to the people she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Marie, Rosie, Linda, and Laura.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Sharon Vargas; two sons, John H. Vargas and wife Miranda, and Ignacio “Nacho” Vargas III and wife Sherry; brother, Danny Marine; sister, Mona Fox; father of her children, Ignacio Vargas, Jr.; and 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
