Luella “Louie” Slatten, 74, of Lefors, passed away on Saturday. March 7, 2026 in Wheeler.
Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Louie was born on July 5, 1951 in Eureka, Kansas to Joe and Laura Kerr. She was raised in Liberal, Kansas. Louie married the love of her life, Robert Slatten, on October 12, 1968 in Liberal. They were later blessed with two children, Lisa and Jared. Louie loved nothing more than caring for her family and devoted herself to being the best wife and mother there was. Their family moved to Lefors in 1986, where she resided until her passing.
Louie enjoyed gardening, going to lake, and camping. She had a kind and beautiful soul. She loved people and showed that love through her generosity. Louie never forgot a birthday and would do anything to make you feel special. Louie and Robert enjoyed going to the casino together and making memories whenever they could. She will be dearly missed by anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Louie was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Laura Kerr; three brothers, Bill Kerr, Jim Kerr, and Scott Kerr; and one sister-in-law, Jonnie Slatten.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Slatten of the home; two children, Lisa Glassey and husband Casey of St. Peters, Missouri and Jarrod Slatten of Pampa; one grandchild, Joseph Slatten and wife Jess; one great-grandchild, Jorja Slatten; one brother, Ronnie Kerr and wife Sheryl of Tyrone, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Herman Slatten of Tyrone; one sister-in-law, Sandra Trimble and husband Tom of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
