Maria del Carmen Hernandez

Maria del Carmen Hernandez, 66, of Pampa, died April 13, 2018 in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2018, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Brother Jesus Hernandez, officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Ms. Hernandez was born July 18, 1951 in Mexico. She moved to Pampa in 1979 where she worked as a cook at Furr’s Cafeteria and numerous other restaurants in the area. Carmen enjoyed sewing and tending to her garden. She was a member of Iglesia Nueva Vida.

Survivors include a son, Hector Estrada of Pampa; four sisters, Antonia Gomez of El Paso, Leticia Barrera of Fabens, Gloria Flores of Tornillo, and Virginia Chavez of Juarez, Mexico; a nephew, Evaristo Jimenez of Pampa; and a niece, Catarina Jimenez of Pampa. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Marcelino Hernandez and Catarina Sanchez; and a sister, Irene Jimenez.
