Maria was born on October 12, 1942 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Antonio Dominguez and Consuelo Mata Dominguez. She moved to El Paso when she was 15 years old to find work and help support her family back home. Maria met Louie Sandoval while living in El Paso. They were later married and spent six years together until his passing. Maria moved to California for a while before settling in Pampa in 1993. She was a longtime member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Maria loved spending time with her family, especially the grandkids. They spent many hours together, in her kitchen, cooking her famous tamales and beans. Maria took great pride in home and kept her home spotless. She enjoyed catching up with her family on Facebook and sharing updates of her own. She could often be found taking a long walk around the neighborhood. Maria was hardworking and spent much of her life working to provide for her family. She was loving, kind, and generous towards the people in her life. However, her “Mama Bear” would come out to protect her family. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Consuelo Dominguez; her husband, Louie Sandoval; her son, Jose Antonio Dominguez; one sister, Manuela Dominguez Lopez; one brother, Onecimo Dominguez; and one nephew, Angel Dominguez.
She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Sandoval; six grandchildren, Louie Sandoval, Jessica Sandoval, Valerie Sandoval, Bernie Davila, Ivan Davila, and Maria Fernanda Dominguez; 10 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Mauricio Dominguez, Luis Dominguez, and Bertha Dominguez; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
