October 6, 1950 — May 2, 2024

Pampa

Marion Kay Graves Waters, 73, of Pampa, passed away on May 2, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler with Rev. Thacker Haynes of the McLean Methodist Church, officiating. Burial and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 -7:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Kay was born to Daniel and Nellie Graves in El Dorado, Arkansas on Oct. 6, 1950.

Her family relocated to Pampa when she was 5 years old.  Kay attended schools in Pampa and graduated in 1969 after her family relocated to Pampa. She met and married the love of her life, Roy ‘Buddy’ Waters in Pampa on July 18, 1975.

Along with working several jobs throughout her life, she took being a full-time mother as her main job. Kay loved to watch her grandchildren play their sports up until her health would not allow her to attend. Being a Nana was the best part of her life, and she loved her grandkids more than life itself. In the last years of her life, she enjoyed reading her Bible, devotionals and watching church on TV. She was always praying for her family. She wanted nothing more than for her family and friends to know and love the Lord as she did. Kay will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Roy Waters; mother-in-law, Willene Waters; brother-in-law, Speck Waters; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Railsback, and Paula Graves; two nephews, Roy David Waters, and Jeff Railsback; two great-nephews, Justin Graves, and Brody Waters.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Buddy Waters; two daughters, Jodie Waters and husband Shea Davis of Canadian, and Jeree Woods and husband Kevin of Pampa; three grandsons, Taylor Woods and wife Elaine of Amarillo, Kade Woods and wife Haley of Borger, and Wyatt Davis of Canadian; a granddaughter, Chloe Davis of Canadian; one great-grandson, Weston Shea Woods of Amarillo, and one due in July, Hagen Taylor Woods of Borger; brother, Gary Graves of Mineola, Texas; sister-in-law, Cheryl Waters of Neosho, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St., Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Natalie and the staff BSA Hospice of Amarillo for taking such great care of our wife, Mother, and Nana.
