Martha Pauline May Baggerman

July 11, 1937 — April 6, 2021

Martha Pauline May Baggerman, 83, of Pampa, passed away, April 6, 2021 in Pampa.

Celebration of life services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Dale Moreland an associate pastor of The Church at Quail Creek of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. 

Martha was born on July 11, 1937 in Spearman to Ruby and J.F. May. As a young girl her family moved to Borger where she attended and graduated school. After graduating, she moved to Fritch in 1960 and resided until 1980. She relocated to Vega, living for several years before moving to Pampa in 1988. While in Pampa she worked as a secretary at First Baptist Church for over 9 years. Martha would meet Cecil Baggerman in Pampa and they later married on December 5, 1992 in Pampa. Martha enjoyed music and played at various churches in the different towns she lived in. She was an artistic woman as well and enjoyed painting and gardening. She will be remembered as generous and selfless Christian woman who had a sweet and gentle spirit.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Jerry May.

Her survivors include her husband, Cecil Baggerman of the home; 4 sons, Mark Hatfield and fiancée, Cruz Jones of Hereford, Dennis Hatfield and wife Laura of Amarillo, Jeff Hatfield and wife Rebecca of Vega, and Eugene Baggerman and wife Heidi of Pampa; seven granddaughters, Cassidy Beckham, Chelsea Hatfield, both of Amarillo, Lauren Washington and husband Clay of Childress, Macee Buchanan and husband Kameron of Marietta, OK, Renee Hendricks and husband Bryce of Pampa, Sydney Hatfield of Amarillo, and Bentlee Hatfield of Lubbock; a grandson, Ryan Baggerman of Pampa; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Eliza, Rodee, Casey, Parker, Griffin, and Vivian; a sister, Barbara Nichols and husband Albert of Pampa; four sisters-in-law, Kathy Michael and husband Monty of Clarendon, Cela Jolly and husband Ned of Arizona, Bonnie Smart of Seattle, WA, and Martha Malloy and husband Mike of Kingfisher, OK,; and other extended family.

Memorials can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 200 Vesey Street, 28th Floor, New York, NY 10281.
