Mary Ann Crain, 87, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in Pampa.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City, Oklahoma, with Pastor Albert Plumley, pastor of First Baptist Church of Shidler, officiating. Following the services, the family will be gathering at the Shidler Senior Center to visit with friends and family. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 – 7:00 PM, on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Mary Ann was born on November 10, 1938, in Oklahoma City, to Virden and Martina Sturmon. She attended various schools in Oklahoma until 1955 when the best-looking man she had ever seen walked into the Coney Café in Stroud. On November 21, 1955, Mary Ann was married to the love of her life, Dean Crain, in Bristow, Oklahoma until his death in 2024.
Mary Ann was a nurse at Highland General Hospital in Pampa, and then various doctor’s offices in Texas and Oklahoma throughout the years. She was a loving wife and mother and took great pride and joy in providing a warm and comfortable home for her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shidler, Oklahoma.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; an infant son, Mark Allen Crain; her parents, Virden and Martina; and a sister, Doreen.
Mary Ann is survived by sons, Mike (LaWausa) Crain, Bob Crain, and Bill Crain, all of Pampa; a daughter, Krystal (Jody) Kimmel of Ponca City, Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law, Helen Crain of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several bonus grandchildren; and great friends, Frank Payne, and Roger and Sarah Mitchell, all of Shidler, Oklahoma.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses from Interim Healthcare for the loving care that they showed Mary Ann.
