Mary Rhea Pletcher, 81, of Pampa, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in Pampa.
Services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Zac Green, pulpit minister at Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Mary was born on September 25, 1941 in Amarillo to Jim Aufill and Annie Talley Aufill. She was raised in and attended school in Pampa. After high school, Mary began working at Levi Strauss. She then worked at Furr's Cafeteria for several years before working at Der Launder until her retirement. After retirement, Mary volunteered at the hospital and received the Volunteer of the Year award in 2004. Mary enjoyed making potholders while watching the Perry Mason TV show. She loved spending time with her family and would take her son and nieces and nephews to the movies when they were younger. Mary loved people and was known all over town for her kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Timothy White.
Mary is survived by her son, Kelly Pletcher of Pampa; one sister, Mattie Norton and husband Larry of Pampa; one grandchild, Jennifer Pletcher; four nieces and nephews, Keith Norton and wife Carol of Pampa, Misty Townson and husband Jimmy of Pampa, Mark Norton and wife Marlana of Lowell, Arkansas, and Christy Ogle and husband Danny of Pampa; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kathy Beck and Carol Norton for all of the care they showed Mary.
