Mauree Moore, 86, of Pampa and McLean, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2025, in McLean.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Pampa with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Mauree will be available for viewing from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Sunday, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm on Monday, and the family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday, at the funeral home.
Mauree was born on July 30, 1939, in Kellerville to Jack Fowler and Annie Pugh Fowler. She would be later adopted and raised by D.L. Miller. As a young girl, her family moved to McLean where she grew up and graduated high school. In high school, Mauree was a baton twirler. During high school, she met her true love, Harl Moore, and they married on January 31, 1959. In this union, they shared almost 65 years and had three wonderful children before Harl’s passing in 2023.
Mauree worked for the Pampa Independent School District, serving at Austin, Travis, and Pampa High School for several years. Mauree had several hobbies that included collecting glass shoes and many different kitchen gadgets, and she especially liked shopping through mail order catalogues. Mauree loved watching Western movies and Gunsmoke. She was an organized woman who kept great lists of recipes.
Mauree was an extremely faithful woman who loved her Lord and church. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Mauree kept prayer journals where she prayed for friends, church members, and family- Mauree would go back and revisit her prayer journal to list how and when those prayers were answered. Mauree was a terrific mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved to spend time drinking cokes and having snacks with all of them. Mauree loved her family and had an immense amount of pride for each one of them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; mother, Annie Miller; biological father, Jack Fowler; adopted father, D.L. Miller; son, Taron Moore; and a brother, Joe Miller.
Mauree is survived by a son, Cody Moore and wife Lynne; daughter, Mika Potts and husband Troy; grandchildren, Zach Potts and wife Callie, Dylan Potts and wife Krystal, Abby Eakin and husband John, David Moore, and Jordan Moore and wife Brianna; 11 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
