Mike Summers, 73, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at home.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 27, 2025 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church,- officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The service will be livestreamed through the funeral home’s website.
Mike was born on August 11, 1951 in Silverton to Marion and Robbie Summers. He attended Pampa schools growing up. After high school, Mike moved to Kermit for several years to work as a welder. In 1971, he married Judy Giddens in Pampa, they celebrated 53 years together. Mike and Judy made Pampa their home. He worked for over 41 years at National Oilwell before retired as a parts manager. Mike was a hard and honest worker. Mike was always upfront about his opinions, and he wanted the same thing in return. He was a good friend to many. Mike also was very involved in Pampa Optimist Youth Club for many years. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth league baseball and coached football. Mike enjoyed playing catch with his son as he grew up. He loved to watch football on tv and was an avid Texas Longhorn fan. Mike also enjoyed shooting and loading and reloading ammunition.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn Morris.
Survivors include his wife, Judy of the home; son, Heath “Beef” Summers and wife Amy of Pampa; he was “Dad-Dad” to his only grandsons, Britt Summers of Pampa; and his favorite little dog, Bullet.
