Nancy was born on July 12, 1950, in Amarillo, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Amarillo, graduating from Tascosa High School in 1968. As a young adult and mother, Nancy and her family moved to Memphis, Texas, in 1981, where she raised 2 boys with then husband, Kelly Beckworth. She also worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for a local business, before becoming the Hospital Director for the Hall County Hospital. Nancy was proud of her accomplishments, being able to hold upper management positions without ever earning a college degree.

Several years later, Nancy met her best friend, Mark Goring. The two were married on July 5, 2001, in San Antonio. They lived in San Antonio where Nancy was the bookkeeper for an eye care group. Because of Mark’s work with GE, they moved up to Gruver, and later Idaho, before moving to Pampa in 2012. Mark preceded Nancy in death on June 18, 2012.

In Nancy’s spare time, she enjoyed needlework and crochet. She was constantly playing number games on her phone, and she liked to play Spades with friends on the weekends. She and Mark were avid fans of the San Antonio Spurs. Nancy loved animals of all kinds and raised several dogs, cats, birds, and an aquarium fish through the years. She dedicated her life to her children and adored her nieces and nephews.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Eunice Freeman; her husband, Mark Miller Goring; and a son, Michael Beckworth.

She is survived by her son, Adam Beckworth and partner Jeff Fightmaster of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; brother, Terry Freeman and wife Faye of Ohio; sisters, Mary Freeman of Panhandle, and Kim Dyer and husband Brent of Pampa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
