The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the funeral home.

JoAnn was born on July 17, 1936, in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Loyd and Ola Dawes. She was raised in Chelsea, growing up on the family farm. In the mid-1950s, JoAnn moved to Pampa to be closer to her brother and his family. She married Milton Roy Tice in 1958.

While in Pampa, JoAnn worked several different jobs. She worked at the Marie Foundation for many years. Later she managed all the Taylor Marts in Pampa. She also ran her own beauty shop at one time. Her last job before retirement was as a cashier for Wal-Mart, at the front of the store, as well as the jewelry department. During retirement, JoAnn loved spending time with her family. The holidays were her favorite time of year, because the whole family was together. She was ready at any point in the day to drop everything, just to be with the ones she loved. At home, JoAnn was always doing puzzles, crocheting, or sewing. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed by her family and friends.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Donnie Tice and David Tice; Milton Roy Tice; one sister, Jane; and two brothers, John and Arthur.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Tice and wife Sherri of Skellytown; daughter, Kathern Manning and husband Marty of Chelsea, Oklahoma; two daughters-in-law, Kimber Tice of Skellytown and Susette Tice of White Deer; seven grandchildren, Julia Tyree of Fritch, Jerry Tice, II and wife Heather of Dallas, Malorie Hutcherson and husband George, Regina VanSickle and husband Billy, all of Skellytown, Chris Tice of Lubbock, Mike Dawes and wife Marie of Foyil, Oklahoma, and Matthew Tice of Pampa; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill of Guymon, Oklahoma; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
