Naomi Fox, 89, of Skellytown passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 in Skellytown.

Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Skellytown with Rev. Carter Pirtle, pastor, officiating. A private burial will follow at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Duncan Cemetery in Duncan, Oklahoma with Rev. Jim Fox, pastor of First Baptist Church in Howardwick, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Livestream will be available on the church’s Facebook Page.

Naomi was born on November 21, 1931 in Duncan, Oklahoma to William Forest and Jennie Ellen Blankenship Mooney. She attended school in Duncan until she got married her senior year. Naomi married Ralph Fox, Jr. on January 14, 1948 in Wichita Falls. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2004. She earned her GED later in life and she was very proud of her accomplishment. Naomi worked for Clint & Sons in the early 1960’s before going to work at Marie Foundations for many years. She volunteered at the Golden Plains Community Hospital in Borger for 20 years. Naomi and Ralph spent many vacations traveling and camping together. She enjoyed reading her bible, playing solitaire, and spending time with her grandkids and great grand kids. Naomi was a member of First Baptist Church in Skellytown where she taught Sunday school and Training Union. She also led the Women’s Ministry Union. Naomi was well known for singing in the choir and the specials she sang at church.

She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Ralph Fox, Jr.; an infant son, William Fox; and a brother, Bill Mooney.

Naomi is survived by her 3 children, Jim Fox and wife Nancy of Skellytown, Becky Fox O’Steen and husband Earl of Sunset City West, Arizona, and Susan Fox Hennessey of Skellytown; 6 siblings, Marvin Mooney and wife Sherry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Carl Mooney and wife Judy of Amarillo, Linda Mooney Tiller and husband Ed of Nashville, Tennessee, Johnny Mooney and wife Peggy of De Soto, Danny Mooney and wife Sandra of Grove, Oklahoma, and Virginia Cannon and husband Mike of Velma, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Chris Fox, Dawn McLean and husband Chris, Candace St. Aubyn and husband Todd, Paul O’Steen and wife Christy, and Jennie Rankin; and 7 great grandchildren, Aubrie Rankin, Daelynn McLean, Destiny McLean, Conner McLean, Mia St. Aubyn, Caleb St. Aubyn, and Levi St. Aubyn.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Skellytown, 306 Roosevelt St, Skellytown, TX 79080 and White Deer-Skellytown Snack Pak for Kids, SP4K, 701 Park Place Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101.
