Nita was born on August 12, 1967 in Whittier, California. She went to Pampa High School and later went on to obtain her insurance and realtor license. At the early age of 13, Nita began working at the Coney Island Cafe. She worked there on and off for over 25 years. Nita worked at Payless Shoes for many years as the manager. While she was there, she purchased and provided shoes for many kids that could not afford them. Nita also worked at 1st Convenience Bank and later Bank of America. In between banks, she worked in the insurance industry for Paul Clay for several years. Nita had a love for helping people, that is when she decided to become a realtor. She enjoyed helping people find that perfect home. For the past 10 years, she has worked with Linda Laycock at Panhandle Plains Realty. In 2023, she was named the top selling agent in Pampa.
Nita enjoyed volunteering at Meredith Place, ringing the bells with Salvation Army, and buying presents for families off the Angel Tree. She loved to buy gifts for others, always looking to bring joy and happiness to others. Nita always took pride in her appearance, she felt it was important to look nice, no matter where they were going. Nita was “boujee” and loved to go shopping for not only herself, but for the entire family and anyone in need to ensure everyone had nice things.
Nita loved her family fiercely. She would do anything to make it possible for her family to all to be together and to be taken care of. Nita was a hard worker at whatever she did, she was strong in her beliefs. Showing kindness and being honest are traits she carried. It was not uncommon for her to help a complete stranger who was struggling. Her sense of humor and laughter will never be forgotten, as you could always see a smile on her face.
On February 23, 2007, she married Kyle Hogue in Panhandle. Together they have created a wonderful life and made many memories. Nita loved to decorate their home, especially during Christmas time. The outside of their house was covered in lights and yard decorations.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Ellis, Sr.; and her dad, Randy McClelland.
