Noel was born on April 13, 1928, to John and Veatrice DeWitt in Grandfield, OK. As a young boy his family moved to Pampa, where he grew up and attended school before his family relocated to San Francisco, CA due to his father’s work. Later, Noel would return to the Panhandle, and he would meet the love of his life, Emma Wright in Wheeler and they married on April 7, 1947. Noel and Emma would settle in Pampa, and they shared over 63 years of marriage and had five wonderful children before Emma passed away in 2010.

Noel worked for the Burlington Northern and Sante Fe railroad for over 30 years before retirement. Mr. DeWitt loved playing dominos and loved dancing, with wife, Emma, when they were married. Noel was a witty, honest, and fun man. In 1980, Noel purchased a cabin in Red River where the family would spend a lot of time and Noel and Emma would build many memories teaching the grandchildren how to ride ATV’s, play dominos, play cards, dance, and how to fish. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, J.W. DeWitt; sisters, Irene DeWitt, June Barker, Billie James, Joyce Robberson; and a daughter, Linda McCain.

Noel is survived by his children, Noel Ray DeWitt, Diana Kay Shephard, Damon Russell DeWitt, and Cecelia Ann Cloud and husband Alan, all of Pampa; 16 grandchildren, Camillia Roberts and husband Stuart, Keith Mason and wife Ann, Michael DeWitt and wife Chelsea, Marcus Shephard and wife Jennifer, Jon Shephard and wife Cassie, Kara Miller and husband Heath, Leigh Hanson and husband Chris, Charity DeWitt, Tiffany Hill, LaDonna Barnhart and husband Kevin, Delta Etheridge, Rusty DeWitt and wife Lisa, Lynsey DeWitt, Chance Henley, Dylan Henley and wife Johanna, and Calee Fisher and husband Micheal; 42 greatgrandchildren; 15 great-greatgrandchildren; and other extended family.
