Nora Benavidez, 76, of Pampa, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 in Pampa.

Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Paul Nachtigall, pastor at Highland Baptist, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Nora was born on June 26, 1945 in Sinton to Eugene and Faustina Coronado. She attended school in Sinton during her childhood. Nora married Juan "Johnny" Benavidez on August 23, 1966 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2021. Nora enjoyed going to flea markets and fishing, but she was happy anywhere as long as she was with Johnny. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything. Nora worked as a nurse's aide for several years before her retirement. She worked many jobs over the years, doing whatever was needed, to help take care of her family.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, of 54 years, Johnny Benavidez; and two daughters, Yolanda Benavidez and Rebecca Benavidez.

She is survived by two daughters, Maria Wright and husband Tommy of Shamrock and Juanita "Janie" High of Elk City; 12 grandchildren, Juan "Pepin" Benavidez Poindexter and wife Leslie, Jose Luis Ruiz, Tommy Wright, Jr. and wife Abigail, Brandon Lee Wright, Belmor Dashaun Wright, Mariah Diann Wright, Cori Curry, Mackenze Basham, Jim O'Neal Mayfield III and wife Chanel, Joshua "Vegetables" Ray Mayfield and wife Melissa, Shikyra RaeLynn High and fiancé Jayden Carroll, and Emily Danielle High; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
