Norma Bolch, 87, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, in Pampa.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Rushing, a retired Baptist minister, officiating, and Rev. James Greer of Central Baptist Church, assisting. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home. Additional viewing will be from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, and 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, on Friday.
Norma was born on November 23, 1938, to J.C. and Ruby Gilbreath in McLean and grew up in Alanreed with three brothers, including her twin. Her brothers once pulled the heads off her dolls and used them as baseballs, but she held her own. She enjoyed climbing trees with her brother Norman and playing basketball in high school. She also filled in for her mother as the Alanreed switchboard operator when she got older.
She later worked at the Marie Foundations factory in McLean, where she and her friends made miniature bras to hang from their rearview mirrors instead of fuzzy dice. Norma hung hers on her 1963 Chevy II, a car she was very proud of.
She later met the love of her life, Travis, through a friend of her brother, leading to almost 58 years of marriage and building a life together, mostly in Pampa. Norma was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church for more than 36 years, Norma taught 4- and 5-year-olds in Sunday school at Central Baptist Church, showing up week after week for generations of kids. She loved the Lord and she loved her church family.
She also loved flowers, loved taking pictures, and especially loved taking pictures of flowers. She was proud to raise her American flag every day she could at the house she and Travis built, and she always had a sweet tooth. She might say she was full, but there was always room for dessert.
Norma and Travis loved traveling in their RV with friends, playing cards and dominoes and enjoying time together. She also treasured having her great granddaughters spend the night and taking them shopping and spoiling them whenever she could.
Norma’s pictures show how much she enjoyed the people and activities at Meredith Court, and her family thanks the loving caregivers there and from Interim Health and Hospice for the kindness and care they provided.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by husband, Travis;
Norma leaves behind two sons, Gary Bolch and wife Vicki of Jones Mills, Pennsylvania and David W. Bolch and wife Kambra of San Marcos; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
