Norma Jean Fienen, 85, of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Winchester, VA.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, September 19, 2022 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends at the Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 2:00-5:00 PM.
Norma was born February 5, 1937 in Independence, Kansas to Forrest Herman and Bonnie Ellen Tull. She attended schools in Independence. On June 11, 1954, she married Marvin Robert Fienen in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before he passed away on February 16, 2016. They moved around to many different cities and states during their marriage, finally settling in Amarillo in 1985. Over the years, she worked many different jobs some include: working at a jewelry store, dental office, working food services for Amarillo ISD, and took care of children in her home in Clinton, Oklahoma. Norma was very involved and proud to be an Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority member. She was very social and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and working on puzzles, word searches, and loved playing games. Norma was a member of the Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Hamaty; son, Dale Herman Fienen; and three grandsons Robert Fienen Jr., Forrest Herman Fienen and Leroy Shindler.
Survivors include her three daughters, Ellen Agosta and husband Richard of Winchester, VA., Stacy Helms and husband Brady of Pampa, and Vickie Shindler and John Joyce of Clinton OK.; a son, Robert Fienen and wife Tammy of Independence, KS.; brother, Art Tull and wife Norma of Independence, KS.; 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
Memorials can be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
