Pat was born into a Panhandle pioneer ranching family. Her parents, Wiley and Jane Reynolds welcomed their blonde, curly headed first-born child on April 7, 1937. Fourteen months later she would be joined by an ornery little brother, Wiley Reynolds Jr. Ranching and an agricultural life were the early foundation of Pat’s story.

After receiving Jesus as her savior at First Baptist Church in elementary school, Pat was blessed to attend 6 weeks of camp in Colorado every summer from the age of nine through high school. It was at Camp Audubon Pat’s love for Jesus began to develop and grow deep roots. After graduation from Pampa High School in 1955, Pat spent two years attending Stephen’s College for Women in Columbia, Missouri. The following year, her love of travel and interest in studying languages found her studying in Grenoble, France and traveling extensively throughout Europe. After her year abroad she spent the summer working in Washington D.C. for Texas Congressman Walter Rogers.

Returning to Pampa, Pat became reacquainted with the handsome Carl Kennedy, and she decided to commute to Texas Tech as their romance developed. Pat and Carl married in June of 1955 and moved to Los Angeles where she continued her studies at UCLA until Douglas was born with Kendra a year later. After the birth of Trecia, the young family returned to Pampa where Carl joined Wiley Reynolds and Sons as their third partner in the family business. At the request of Pat’s father, the family of five moved to Los Mochis in Sinaloa, Mexico, where Carl managed the family cattle business and Pat had the opportunity to develop her Spanish skills. The arrival of the twins took the family back to Pampa so the older children could start school.

Upon their return to Pampa and their growing desire to study the bible, Carl and Pat were instrumental in helping found The Bible Church of Pampa, where they began to grow in their knowledge of God’s word. The family lived in Pampa several years when God led them to Denver for a business opportunity with Carl’s brother where they experienced tremendous spiritual growth in the bible church they attended. After five years in Denver, and feeling like they had been to seminary, the Kennedy’s returned to Pampa to finish raising their children.

Pat supported her husband in his role as Gray County judge for 16 years while balancing motherhood and being involved in the community. She taught women’s bible classes around her table as well as teaching a women’s Sunday School class for over 30 years. Pat, along with her spiritual mentor, Myra Somerville started The Panhandle Christian Women’s Retreat which blessed hundreds of women. Pat and her dear friend Carol Fruge’, brought Bible Study Fellowship to Pampa with women from Amarillo, Lubbock and the surrounding Panhandle communities attending. After completing God’s purpose as the BSF teaching leader, Pat brought Mom’s in Prayer to Pampa and served as a regional coordinator for the northern half of Texas.

Pat was elected to the PISD schoolboard in 1993 serving for 8 years and during her tenure she held both the office of secretary and Vice President. She also functioned as President of Republican Women in Pampa and was a counselor at the Crisis Pregnancy Center. During their golden years, Pat and Carl helped found Faith Bible Church and Pat was thrilled to be part of the Pampa’s “GO TELL” Crusade in 2015 where she and Kathryn Green met and discipled a group of junior high girls until they graduated.

Pat leaves behind her children, Douglas Kennedy and wife Kimberly of Lubbock, Kendra Blades and husband OB of Pampa, Trecia Lascor and husband Mike of Piney Flats, TN, Wiley Kennedy and wife Lia of Santa Clarita, CA and Worley Kennedy and wife Danina of Pampa. Pat was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Investing in her husband, her children and sharing who God is and the difference Jesus makes in one’s life was truly Pat’s calling. As a family we celebrate her faithfulness to our Lord and look forward to sharing eternity with her in heaven.

The family would like to thank our caregivers, Crystal Hearon, Sara Hernandez, Maria Bueno and the recent night team led by Melissa Cottrell who so lovingly joined us in caring for our mother.
