Patricia "Pat" Kindle

Patricia “Pat” Kindle, 90, of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026 in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Vondel Stevens, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Pat was born on January 5, 1936, in Geary, Oklahoma, to John and Coleene Carpenter. She graduated from Lefors High School with the Class of 1954. On November 29, 1958, she married the love of her life, Bill Kindle. Together they shared nearly 59 wonderful years of marriage before Bill's passing on September 7, 2017.

Early in their marriage, Pat and Bill made their home in Lefors, where they began raising their family. In 1963, they moved to Pampa, where Pat devoted herself to her family as a homemaker. She was actively involved in her children's lives and could always be found supporting their activities and cheering them on.

Pat had a vibrant personality and a deep appreciation for the arts. A gifted artist, she loved painting and basket weaving, and her creativity touched everyone who knew her. She shared her talents through her involvement with the Pampa Art Club, Pampa Fine Arts, and by serving on the board of the Pampa Area Outdoor Art Association. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and faithfully served on the board of directors for the Gray County Sheltered Workshop.

A woman of strong faith, Pat was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church before later transferring her membership to St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Pat never met a stranger. Her warm smile, outgoing nature, and joyful spirit made her a delight to be around. Above all, she treasured her family. Whether gathered for holidays, celebrations, or everyday moments, she found her greatest happiness in spending time with those she loved. She especially cherished her role as "Grandma" and "Great Gran," creating countless memories and showering her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with unconditional love.

The family would like to thank Avir (Coronado Healthcare) and Excela Hospice for all of their love and care of Pat.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty McCarthy; and a brother, Jerry Carpenter.

Survivors included her daughter, Dana Chumbley and husband Terry of Pampa; son, Jeff Kindle and Trisha of Houston; grandchildren, Kira Rose and husband Matt, Corey Kindle and wife Aryn, Annie Adkison and husband Chase, Kyler Pitman and wife Ericka, and Ethan Pitman; and 10 great grandchildren.
