Randy was born on October 29, 1956, in Pampa to Glen and Melba Watson. He grew up and graduated from high school in Pampa. During high school, he met his true love, Rebecca Gercken. The high school sweethearts wed in 1976. Thereafter, they began their young family, having two children, Amy and Ricky.
Randy started his long career in the oil and gas industry working for his father’s company, Glen’s Tool Company. He managed the business under the ownership of various companies until his retirement. Randy loved his job, career, and industry.
Randy was a handyman who could fix or build anything. He was also an avid car collector. He had many that he was particularly fond of, such as his 1955 blue Ford pickup truck and a yellow Pontiac Firebird. He loved spending time with his people, whether it was his friends that came out to his “coffee club” at his building, or friends at the car show. However, he was most interested in being the best husband and father he could be. Randy always made sure that he helped support any of his children’s pursuits and endeavors. Above all, he was a supportive husband, father, and friend who was always there to help anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Brian Watson.
Randy is survived by his wife, Becky Watson; daughter, Amy Belcher, and her husband, Jay; son, Ricky Watson; two grandchildren, Lachlan Belcher and Aidan Belcher; nieces and a nephew from his brother, Brian; and other extended family.
