Pearline Regina (Mathis) Williams, 73, of Pampa and formerly of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Pampa.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Open Door Church of God in Christ with pastor Herman Moore, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Pearline was born on August 2, 1952, in Pampa to Earnest and Precious Mathis. She graduated from Pampa High School and then went to Parks College in Denver, Colorado to study business. After college, Pearline went to work for AT&T in Denver for many years.
Pearline had a passion for music. While growing up in Pampa, Pearline and her family were heavily involved at the Open Door Church of God in Christ. She was a talented pianist and singer; she played piano for the church congregation and choir. Pearline was a brilliant woman, she was an avid historian who read many books about both World Wars. Pearline was a fan of the Andy Griffith Show and never missed an episode. She loved her family dearly and was known to have great wisdom and foresight.
Pearline was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest Lee Mathis, Sr., and Precious Anderson Mathis; two brothers, John Mathis, and James Mathis; and a nephew, William Rogers.
She is survived by her son, Dietric Williams and wife Kara; two grandsons, Carter, and Dietric, Jr.; three brothers, Earnest Lee Mathis, Jr., Stanley Mathis, and Esteven Mathis; one sister, Sharon Mathis-Olulu; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Pearline’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Open Door Church of God in Christ, 402 W. Oklahoma St., Pampa, TX, 79065.
