Reid Steger

Reid Steger, 57, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in Pampa. 

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 3, 2023 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Levelland, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Reid was born February 7, 1966 in Pampa to Robert and Ruth Steger. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1984, where he was on the swim team and went on to attend Texas Tech University for several years. Reid worked in the oilfield for a couple of years before beginning his career with TxDot in 1992. He started at an entry level worker and worked his way up to an Engineer Specialist retiring in May of 2015. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending his time traveling. Reid was an avid Dallas Cowboy and NASCAR fan. Reid also enjoyed doing woodworking in his younger years.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. 

Reid was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Steger.

Survivors include his daughter, Hayley Weaver and husband Chris of Pampa; father, Robert Steger of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Caden Weaver and Conner Weaver; and a brother, Richard Steger and wife Heather of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
