Renee' McCullough

Renee’ McCullough, 72, of Pampa, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Pampa.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Pampa with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

A memorial visitation room is set up at the funeral home for friends to sign the register book. 

Renee’ was born July 19, 1953, in Pampa to Leroy and Jean Allen. She graduated from White Deer High School in 1971. After high school, she worked for several local businesses before beginning her career with the White Deer Independent School District as a secretary, a role she held for seven years.

While working for the school district, Renee’ met the love of her life, Frank McCullough. They were married on December 21, 1973, in Skellytown. Their son, Brant Shea McCullough, was born in 1978. Renee later stepped away from her position in order to care for Brant due to his health needs, and he preceded her in death in November 1979.

Renee’ later returned to work with Bob Wallace Oil Company and Wilham Investments. During those years, she and Frank welcomed two daughters: Tiffany on August 19, 1980, and Chelsea on April 5, 1983. Renee’ returned to the school system in 1991, joining Pampa ISD, where she supervised the evolution of the computer lab. In addition to that, she served in various and assorted side jobs including coaching the cheerleaders, calling volleyball lines, taking tickets at ball games and coordinating the school prayer chain. Renee’ loved working with students. She retired in 2013.

Renee’ devoted herself to her children and supported them in all their activities—never missing a game, event, or milestone. Her girls always knew she was there.

Renee’ was a lifelong Christian and a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Pampa. She served her church in many roles, including church camp sponsor, choir member, handbell player, Sunday School director, and funeral meal ministry volunteer. She participated in several mission trips, including serving in Moore, Oklahoma after the tornado and a mission trip in Amsterdam. She had a servant’s heart and loved sharing God’s word.

Renee’ was active and adventurous. In her early years she enjoyed water-skiing in the summer, snow-skiing in the winter, and running—particularly with the “Harvester Good” running group, completing the Oklahoma City Half Marathon with her two daughters. She and Frank also loved traveling with National Farm Life and looked forward to those trips each year.

On July 15, 2015, Renee’ suffered a life-altering injury that changed the course of her life. Though she faced many physical challenges in the years that followed, her faith only grew stronger. She continued to share God’s love through her words and actions. Renee’ often said, “If my injury brings one person to Jesus, it was all worth it” and she lived that truth daily.

She loved watching Texas Tech football and basketball and remained a loyal and enthusiastic fan. Renee’ was not only dedicated to her family, but also a faithful friend—kind, giving, positive, and joyful in every circumstance.

Renee’ cherished her role as “NeNe” to her grandchildren. They were her greatest joy, and time with family was her greatest blessing. Her warm smile, loving nature, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Renee’ was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Brant Shea McCullough; and her father- and mother-in-law, Beden and James McCullough; brothers-in-law David Guinn and Jimmy Barton; and nephew Jacob Guinn.

She is survived by her husband, Frank McCullough of the home; two daughters, Tiffany Shock and Chelsea Smith and husband Zane, all of Dallas; four grandchildren, Anistyn Shock, Beckham Shock, Nox Smith, and Axl Smith; two sisters, Gaye Barton of Dalhart and twin sister Debbie Guinn of Austin; nieces Jennifer King, Lindsay Barton, and Alicia Guinn; and many great-nieces and nephews.

The family expresses their gratitude to Renee’s dear friend, Kathy Cavalier, and her loving caregiver, Adriana Castillo, for the care, love, and friendship they provided over the years.
