Rickey Brown, 76, of Pampa, passed away on May 21, 2023, in Amarillo.
Celebration of life services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating, and Rev. Rick Parnell, a retired Baptist minister, assisting. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Rickey was born on May 24, 1946, to Hal and Dora Mae Brown. He grew up on the Hayhook Ranch, attended Spring Creek and Borger High, and graduated from high school in Pampa in 1965. After high school, he attended West Texas State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970. Rickey married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Sharron Mackie on September 1, 1967, in Pampa.
After graduating from college, he moved back to Pampa to begin his long career in Agriculture. Rickey worked for many years throughout the Panhandle before taking a job at John Deere, a position spanning 25 years before his retirement in 2015. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. In his spare time, Rickey liked to garden & paint but being with his family was the most important thing to him, especially his granddaughters. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents; and by a brother, Jimmie Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Sharron Brown of the home; two daughters, Kelley Bilyeu and husband John, and Kerrey Perry and husband Joe, all of Pampa; three granddaughters, Lacey Bilyeu, Kaley Bilyeu, and Emma Perry, all of Pampa; a sister, Judy Rogers and husband Joe of Katy.
