Robert Alexander, 74, of Pampa and formerly from Graham, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024 in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 24, 2024 in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamison Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The service will be livestreamed through the funeral home’s website.
Robert was born December 2, 1949 in Mattoon, Illinois to Paxton and Gladys Alexander. He graduated high school in Missouri. After high school, he attended a trade school focused on carpentry. Robert would practice that trade for many years and was an accomplished carpenter. Robert could build just about anything. When he was younger, he was involved in the rodeo scene and rode for many years. In 1993, he married Marie McMillan in Nacogdoches, Texas. They have lived in Graham, Texas for the past 20 years, recently moving to Pampa.
Robert loved his family and loved to be around children. He also was a believer in Christ and loved his Lord and Savior. He didn’t like to be away from his wife, as they were always together.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Alexander; daughter, Tonya Cole; and granddaughter, Casey Wells.
Survivors include his wife, Marie of the home; three daughters, Penny Layne Cole and Sarah Edwards and husband Scott all of Pampa, and Kimberly Cole of Florida; sister, Patricia Sweeney of Missouri; grandchildren, Josh Cole of Colorado, Garrett Wagner of Pampa, Erika Cotton of Nebraska, Zoe’ Hanes of Kansas, Jared Hogue of Pampa, Charles Hanes of Kansas, Reighans Hanes of Texas, and Emily Wells of Pampa; great grandchildren, Jasmine Cole of Colorado, Gunner Cotton, Derek Cotton, Jr., Kinsley Cotton, and Mayze Cotton all of Nebraska; two nieces, Stacy Beaman and Stephanie Sweeney both of Missouri.
