Robert "Benny" Benjamin Weaver

Robert Benjamin “Benny” Weaver, 77, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023, in Pampa.


No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.


Benny was born on June 24, 1946, in Pampa to Virgil and Rosa Lee Weaver. He grew up in Skellytown and attended school in White Deer, graduating in 1965. In 1968, Benny joined the Navy. He served from 1968 to 1970 and was honorably discharged. On January 15, 1971, Benny married the love of his life, Debra Murray. The couple moved to Pampa shortly after their wedding and have been in the community ever since.


On July 7, 1977, Benny began his career with UPS. He worked as a delivery driver for 31 years until his retirement in 2008. During retirement, Benny loved to do woodworking. He and Debra would also go camping often. Benny was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by many.


Benny is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Weaver and James Weaver; sister, Carolyn Rutherford; brothers-in-law, Leroy Rutherford and Dewayne Keys; and sister-in-law, Barbara Gage.


He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Debra Weaver of the home; daughter, Karen Barton and husband Gene of Pampa; son, Thorban Weaver and wife Alecia of Amarillo; grandchildren, Jacob Barton and Aaron Barton, both of Pampa, Hudson Weaver, Kaylee Weaver, and Reese Weaver, all of Amarillo; sister, Sandra Keys of Borger; and numerous other extended family members.
