Robert "Bob" Lewis Hines

November 9, 1969 — March 9, 2026

Lefors

Robert “Bob” Lewis Hines, 56, of Lefors gained his wings on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Scott Brown, a family friend, officiating. Burial will follow at Alanreed Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral directors and Crematory.

Bob was born on November 9, 1969 in Odessa, New York. He was the youngest of three children. Bob lived in New York until he was 15 when he came to Texas to meet his dad. He married Katherine Wyatt on July 12, 1995. Bob lived in Texas until 1997, when he and his wife Katherine moved to Walsh, Colorado and started their family. In 2006, they moved back to Lefors, where they resided until his passing.

Bob was a very strong-minded man who was set in his ways, and you could tell him no different. His biggest priority was making sure all the children were taken care of, for they were his whole world. He loved being at the lake fishing, hunting, and just hanging out, driving the neighbors crazy with his loud music while spending time with friends and family and riding his motorcycle. He loved to cook and try new random things. One of his favorite meals he discovered was his Brazilian steak, and he would always have his grandchildren right by his side teaching them, saying, “You can’t tell my secret ingredients.”

He started working at B&G Electric in 2006, where he met some of his best friends, who became family to him. He would have all of us go on vacation together as one big family. He even got his nickname there as “Screaming Bob.” The story goes that if he didn’t have his morning coffee, he would hoot and holler every morning at everyone. He became a wonderful teacher in the electrical field, training many interns throughout the years, taking them under his wing and teaching them everything he knew to help them succeed. However, the biggest teaching moments were on the weekends when his grandsons got older and he would teach them how to build houses, and repair parts on motorcycles and four-wheelers. He spent the majority of his time off trying to spend it with all the children, watching over them and making sure they had the times of their lives.

Bob leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Katherine Hines; two daughters, Jacie Hines and Cassie Hines; two grandsons Jasper Hines and Landon Scott-Hines; two siblings, Larry Hines and Lori Brown; and all the “adopted kids” that he would call his grandkids from all the friends over the years that became family.
