Robert Cole Rogers

Robert Cole Rogers, a devoted husband, intellectual, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 46. Born in McKinney, Texas, to Anna Ruth and Billy Rogers, Cole lived a life of courage, wisdom, and boundless kindness. A proud veteran, Robert Cole served honorably in the United States Army’s 101st Airborne Division as part of the elite Pathfinder Division, stationed in South Korea. His service instilled a lifelong commitment to duty and resilience. 

Cole was an intellectual spirit, he was a risk taker and a dreamer. He loved to study the Bible, which he loved discussing with friends, sharing insights with warmth and patience. He always said to "choose joy" and "consider it joy when we go through trials." He loved the Ragamuffin Gospel and loved Brennan Manning's message "God loves us as we are, not as we should be, cause none of us are as we should be." He was a pragmatist and a paladin at heart, he offered wisdom and kindness to all in need, especially Erin.

 He practiced with live steel, he loved forging blades and woodworking as well. Robert loved the outdoors, finding joy in camping, fishing, and hiking, and wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail. He adored his dogs, Bear and Sophie as well, "dogs were his favorite people". 

Robert Cole is survived by his wife, Erin Cobb; his son, Ty Cole Rogers; his sisters, Lorye Maxwell and Rhonda Bollier; and his brother, Michael Murley. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Anna Ruth and Billy Rogers, and his son, Gavin Rogers, who sadly passed at age 6. Cole's legacy of faith and kindness endures. 

A memorial service will be held at a date and location to be determined. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” (Psalm 91:1-2)
