Roberto Avila

Roberto Dueñas Avila, 63, of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2026 at his home.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Roberto was born on December 26, 1962 in Portezuelo, Mexico to Fermin Avila and Clementina Dueñas. He was raised in Portezuelo where he helped care for his family at a young age by working on a ranch and in construction. Roberto was married to the love of his life, Irene Guerrero, for over 40 years. He moved to California for several years before returning to Mexico. In 2007, Roberto moved to Pampa where he resided until his passing. Roberto worked as handy man for several years until his health no longer allowed him to.

Roberto enjoyed camping and fishing. He also enjoyed cheering for his favorite soccer team, Mexico. Roberto was a strong man that never let life keep him down or get in the way of providing for his family. He was determined to make the best of every situation and motivated to keep doing what he did best, caring for his family. Roberto leaves behind a legacy of strength, determination, and love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fermin Avila and Clementina Dueñas; and three siblings.

Roberto is survived by his wife, Irene Guerrero; six children, Josue Ayala, Osiel Ayala, Laila Ayala, Iris Ayala, Yuliana Ayala, and Lupita Avila; one granddaughter, Natalia Rain Ayala; four siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
