Ronald “Ronny” Glen Briggs,76, of Amarillo, passed away on January 10, 2024 in Amarillo.

Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Carmichael-Watley Colonial Chapel in Pampa with Robin Martin officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. 

A reception will be held immediately after the service at the cemetery at the Chamber room in the Pampa EDC building, 200 N. Ballard, Pampa, Texas 79065. 

Ronny was born on March 4, 1947 in Canadian, Tx to Clarence and Naomi Briggs. He graduated from Canadian high school in 1965 and enlisted in the Navy, later that same year. He served active duty for two years during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from active duty, Ronny served in the Navy Reserves for four years.  While in the Reserves he earned a license in air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC).  He married Georganna Jackson on October 25, 1969 in Canyon.  Ronny was honorably discharged from the Navy on October 24, 1971, and he put himself through college with the GI bill. Ronny worked full time in HVAC to support his new family and studied Geology part time at West Texas State University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Geology in 1979. Ronny worked in this field until retirement. Ronny loved boating, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.  He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor and infectious laugh. 

He is preceded by his parents, Clarence and Naomi Briggs; and brothers, John, Danny, and Richard Briggs. 
      
He is survived by his loving wife, Georganna Briggs of Amarillo; his son, Cliff Briggs and wife Melanie of Amarillo; grandchildren, Chase Briggs of Liberty Hill, and Shayne Farrell of Abilene; two great-grandchildren, Noah Briggs of Dunedin, Florida and Felix Farrell of Abilene.  He is also survived by his brothers, Tony Briggs, Frank Briggs and Jim Briggs.
