Royce Waldrip

Royce Waldrip, 72, of Pampa, Texas, passed away on September 4, 2026.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Pampa with a special message from Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, and Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026, and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Royce was born on July 22, 1954, in Slaton, Texas, to Dennis “Mike” and Wanda Jo Waldrip. He later moved with his family to Hereford, where he grew up and graduated with the Hereford High School Class of 1972.

After high school, Royce took a job at Duckwall's in Pampa, a decision that would change the course of his life. It was there that he met Belinda Brooks, the love of his life. The two were married on June 23, 1974, and built a wonderful life together in Pampa. Over the next 52 years, they shared a marriage filled with love, laughter, devotion, and countless memories. Together, they raised their only child, Bryan, who remained one of Royce's greatest sources of pride and joy.

Royce spent most of his working life in the electrical industry. He began his career with B&G Electric before following his entrepreneurial spirit and establishing several businesses of his own, including Mac Supply, R.E. Waldrip, and FLS Surplus. While he was proud of the companies he built, the relationships he formed along the way meant even more to him. Employees, customers, and vendors often became lifelong friends, and Royce valued those friendships greatly.

Royce was a man of many interests and never lacked a hobby to keep him busy. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching softball, collecting baseball cards, and DJing local events. He especially loved supporting Bryan, spending countless hours attending practices, games, and activities. Whether in the stands or on the sidelines, Royce was always there, cheering him on and “helping” the officials.

In retirement, Royce had more time to enjoy the things he loved most. He and Belinda enjoyed traveling together and creating memories wherever they went. Royce also had a passion for collecting art and coins and was always excited to discover a unique addition to his collection. In recent years, he and Belinda shared many enjoyable weekends watching golf and college football together.

More than anything, Royce loved his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and an incredibly proud grandfather. His grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Royce will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous heart, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. The friendships he built and the lives he touched are a lasting testament to the kind of man he was.

Royce was preceded in death by his parents, Jo and Dennis "Mike" Waldrip, and by his nephew, Shane Kennedy.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Belinda Waldrip of Pampa; his only child, Bryan Waldrip and wife Mandy of Pampa; four grandchildren, Reese, Andrew, Caden, and Emma Waldrip, all of Pampa; his sister, Kathy Ely and husband Randy; sisters-in-law Pam Cutlip, Phyllis Dominey, Marcella Brooks, and Annette Wallace and husband Randy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Royce's legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he cherished, and the countless lives he touched over the years. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
