Ruby Beatrice (Bea) Furgerson

Ruby Beatrice “Bea” Furgerson, 91, of Pampa, passed peacefully in her sleep on May 17, 2022, in McLean.

A private family conducted burial of Bea will be done at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Bea was born on January 25, 1931 in Childress to Oscar and Ruby Free. She married the love of her life, Chester Furgerson, on June 25, 1948 in Wellington. They were married for 52 years. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2000.

Bea was a homemaker for most of her life, taking care of her three children. She always served home cooked meals and lots of homemade desserts. Bea loved to dance and listen to music. She enjoyed being outside especially when she could sit on her porch and listen to the birds, watch the planes go by, and see the deer and turkey in her yard. Bea liked going on her shopping trips to Walmart.

Although, she loved nothing more than going to family gatherings and spending time with her favorite people. Bea’s family recalls how blessed they were to be in her presence. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mom, and grandma.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Robert Paul Furgerson; and three brothers, OC Free, Everett Free, and Billy Ray Free.

She is survived by one son, Mase Furgerson and wife Hazel of Lefors; two daughters, Rhonda Kidd of Lefors, and Belinda Connell of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Ronny Furgerson and wife Dot of Lefors, Teri Furgerson of Tyler, Mase, Jr. and wife Addie of Lefors, Brandon Kidd and wife Katie of Pampa, Zach Kidd of Lefors, Amanda Hicks of Pampa, and Dylan Connell and wife Kerri of Lefors; sister-in-law, Jean Bracht of Washington;13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
