Scotty Wells, 61, of Pampa, passed away on September 10, 2024, in Pampa.
Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, September 30, 2024 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jarrod Neal, of First Methodist Church of Pampa, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Scotty was born on July 21, 1963, in Sweetwater to Tommy Wells and Billie Hupp. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1981. After high school Scotty was a technician in the cement industry. He later moved to Tyler where he owned and operated Montoni Pizzeria. On September 26, 1997, Scotty entered into active duty with the United States Navy, which allowed him to see the world. He retired from the Navy in 2016 after serving for 20 years. In 2016 Scotty moved back to Pampa and worked as a sous chef, and did catering for Pampa Lions Club, Altrusa Club, Widows Club and for First Methodist Church on Wednesday nights.
Scotty loved to garden, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved Halloween, especially decorating his yard for Halloween. Scotty was a very loving, giving, witty person, and had the patience of Job. Some would say he was an independent thinker. According to his 10-year-old grandson he was the smartest man in the world.
Scotty is preceded in death by his wife, Beth Wells, and stepfather, Fred Hupp.
Scotty is survived by his mother, Billie Hupp; father, Tommy Wells and wife Johnnie; daughter, Marissa Moore; son, Tommy Wells and wife Meagan; grandson, DJ Moore; granddaughters, Rhease Wells, Lorelei Wells, and Charlotte Wells; brother, Roger Wells; sister Kelli Ranney; and niece, Taylor Ranney.
