Shirley Ann Michael Strahan

November 1, 1934 — January 26, 2022

Shirley Ann Michael Strahan, 87, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in Amarillo.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 31, 2022 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Toni Bailey, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Borger, officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Shirley was born November 1, 1934 in Pilot Point, Texas to Guy and Edith Michael. She attended schools in Miami and in the early 60's she went on to Cosmetology School in El Paso. In 1967, she returned to Miami and began working at the Marie Foundation for several years. Shirley later retired from Pantex in 1997 after 15 years of service. While at Pantex she was a member of the Cold War Patriot group. She loved the Lord and studying his word. Shirley showed God's love to all around her and shared her faith to anyone she could. She had a kind and loving heart, who helped others, and always had a smile on her face. Shirley loved all animals, especially her dog, Abbey. When she was younger, she enjoyed riding horses. When she was able, she also enjoyed working outside in her yard, playing games, and spending time with her family. Shirley loved vacationing with her family, especially the trip she took to Israel. She will be missed dearly by her family and all who knew her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Danne Sue Strahan; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Strahan; and the children's father, J.C. Strahan.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Debbie Meeks and husband Lynn of Amarillo and Sheila McDonald and husband Mike of Buford, Georgia; a son, Jay Strahan of Amarillo; brother, Monty Michael of Clarendon; she was grandma to her 4 grandchildren, Terri Lee, Sherri Daniells, Julie Strahan all of Amarillo, and Elise Kramer and husband Alex of Alpharetta, Georgia; 4 great grandchildren with 1 on the way.
