Stella Dalrymple, 79, formerly of Pampa, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024 in Ocala, Florida.
Memorial graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Fairview Cemetery with Rick Pearson, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Stella was born on March 20, 1945 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma to Edmond Smith and Rose Griffin. She was raised in Pampa and was a 1963 graduate of Pampa High School. After graduating, Stella worked various jobs until becoming administrative assistant at Holman Well Service. She worked there for several years until her retirement in 2012. Stella moved to Tyler shortly after retiring to be closer to her son, Gary. She would frequently travel to visit her daughter, Stephanie, in Florida.
Stella married Kenneth Dalrymple on January 11, 1974 and they were married until his passing on March 11, 2000. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and traveling with her family. Stella had the best time at family gatherings and always looked forward to them. She was an avid reader and was especially dedicated to in-depth Bible study leading to a deep knowledge and love of God’s Word. Stella treasured the time she spent leading women’s and senior adult at Calvary Baptist, where she was a long-time member. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dalrymple; her parents, Edmond Smith and Rose Griffin; two brothers; and two sisters.
Stella is survived by her two children, Stephanie Robin Porterfield of Ocala, Florida and Gary Cahill and wife Kari of Tyler; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
