Pampa

Tabitha Smith, 55, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, in Pampa after a courageous one-year battle with liver disease.

Memorial services will be 10:00AM Monday, March 23, 2026, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Herman Moore officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Tabitha was born on February 19, 1971, in West Germany. She attended school in Amarillo, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Timothy Smith. The two shared 37 years of marriage and built a life centered around family and love. Tabitha was a proud mother of five children and a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren, who were the light of her life. In 2002, she and Tim moved to Pampa, Texas, where they continued building their home and community.

During her years in Pampa, Tabitha worked at Dyers BBQ, Pak-A-Burger, Pak-A-Sak, and Dollar Tree. No matter where she worked, she was known for her kindness, humor, and willingness to help others.

Known affectionately as “Momma T” and “Nana,” Tabitha had a heart far bigger than her small stature. She loved animals deeply and was always ready to lend a helping hand to someone in need. She rarely missed cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Eagles and enjoyed sharing that passion with those around her.

Tabitha took great pride in caring for her family and her home. She liked things done just the right way. When Tim tried to help with the dishes or laundry, she would remind him that the cups belonged in the cabinet a certain way, the laundry had to be folded just right, and even the toilet paper roll had its proper direction. Those small moments became cherished parts of the love and life they shared together.

She loved cooking, especially baking desserts for her children and grandchildren. When she wasn’t in the kitchen or spending time with the grandkids, she could often be found watching her favorite reality television shows, especially the Real Housewives series.

Later in life, when Tim’s mother moved into their home, Tabitha welcomed her with open arms and cared for her just as she had always cared for the rest of her family. Above all, Tabitha was devoted to family. She became a mother and grandmother figure to many who were not related by blood, welcoming them with the same love, guidance, and fierce protection she gave her own. Her laughter, strength, and generous spirit will be remembered by the many people who were blessed to call her Momma T, Nana, and friend.

Tabitha was preceded in death by two daughters, Shaquilla and Tia; and a brother, Clive Weaver.

Survivors include her husband, Timothy of the home; daughter, Rianne Smith of Dallas; two sons, Denzzail Smith and Timothy Smith, Jr. and Vertalicia Renteria of Pampa; eight grandchildren, Keyzus, Tralynn, Arianna, Ja’shan, Denzzail, Jr., Preston, Paislee, and Evangeline; mother, Debbie Weaver and husband Clive; sisters, Lisa Ann Smith and husband James and Billie Fleming.
