Tammy Michelle Whisenhunt, 49, of Lefors and formerly of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 in Lubbock.

Tammy was born on May 25, 1976 in Pampa to John Raymond McKee and Christine Elizabeth Smith. She grew up and attended school in Pampa. Tammy moved to Amarillo and back to Pampa several times in her life before meeting her spouse Leonard Adams and finally settling down in Lefors.

Tammy enjoyed staying home and spending time with her family more than anything. She was a very caring and nurturing person but she was known to be ornery and at times could even be described as feisty. Tammy loved animals of all kind, from dogs and cats to spiders and snakes. She enjoyed spending time outside whether it was just sitting out on the porch or going fishing with Leonard. Tammy will be remembered for her caring nature, her love of Dr. Pepper, and her passion for animals.

Tammy was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

She is survived by her spouse, Leonard Adams; her father, John Raymond McKee; her mother, Christine Elizabeth Smith and husband Kenneth Smith; a sister, Dora Allison; a brother, Kenny Smith; and a son, Tobbey Michael Preas; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandkids, and other extended family members.

Tammy’s family would like to recognize University Medical Center in Lubbock for their help in caring for Tammy.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donation in Tammy’s memory be made to Pampa Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 2095, Pampa, TX, 79066.
