Butch was born on February 20, 1945, in McMinnville, Oregon to Roy and Minnie Reeves. As a young boy his family moved to Pampa, where Butch grew up and graduated school. After high school, he entered the U.S. Marines and he honorably served during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his service to his country, he would come back to Pampa and later married Donna Gordy; they would part ways, but always remained friends and they reconnected later in their lives. Butch found love again when met and married Sherry Barker, and she would precede him in death in 2016.
Butch worked for Gray County for several years as a heavy equipment operator for several years, and he also had a long tenure in the oil & gas industry where he would eventually retire. After retirement, Butch would move to South Fork, Colorado and he resided there for 30 years. Later, he wanted to be closer to family, so he returned to Texas. In his spare time, he liked to hunt and fish. Butch also found great enjoyment and fulfillment barbequing, hosting, and serving his family and friends. He was also a very patriotic person who loved his country. Butch was a man who wanted to check on others to make sure most of their needs were met. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sherry Reeves; daughter, Stacie Furgason; grandson, Tyler Reeves; and an infant brother, Charles Reeves.
His survivors include his spouse, Donna Gordy of Skellytown; daughter, Michelle Duvall of Skellytown; two sons, Quentin Hardesty and wife Julia of Rock Spring, Wyoming, and Troyce Reeves and wife Lorena of Pampa; 15 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren and one on-the-way; a sister, Carolyn Kuczmarski of Eagle River, Wisconsin; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
