Thomas Stilwell, 83, of Pampa passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026 in Amarillo at BSA Hospital surrounded by his family.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery with Mark Hulsey, Thomas’s nephew, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Thomas was born on November 5, 1942 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Calvin and Alma Blackburn Stilwell. He attended school in Pampa and Fort Worth. Thomas left school when he was 17 to enlist in the United States Army and later the National Guard. He proudly served his country for many years before being honorably discharged. Thomas then served for six more years with the inactive Honor Guard.
Thomas worked as an oilfield hand for most of his life. He traveled all over the country for work and eventually made his way home to Pampa. Thomas worked for the City of Pampa, in the water department, for a few years in his sixties before retiring. Thomas was hard worker and felt immense satisfaction in a good well done. He was especially skilled at working on small engines and often fixed up old lawn mowers and weed eaters to sell.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Alma Stilwell; four brothers, John, Jim, Mike, and Vern Stilwell; and one sister, Pat Hulsey.
He is survived by his two children, Tina Tuttle and Tommy Stilwell, Jr. both of Pampa; several grandchildren; a nephew that he was especially close to, Zach Stillwell and wife Marty of Amarillo; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
