Tim Sexton, 63, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 in Pampa.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 5, 2025 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Tim was born July 1, 1962 in Waterloo, Iowa to Clark and Lavonne Sexton. After high school, Tim completed his mechanic’s certification through a trade school. In 1980, he moved to Pampa and met Diana Gaye Higgins, they would later marry on August 28, 1993. The two of them moved to Austin where he worked for a Chevrolet dealership as their top mechanic from 1982 until the early 1990s. Tim and Diane moved to Ketchikan, Alaska for Tim to work in another Chevrolet dealership for almost ten years before moving to Sweet Home, Oregon. In 2002, they returned to Pampa to work for Rasco Construction until 2015, when it sold to High Performance Exterior and Glass. Tim retired in 2023.
Tim appeared to be gruff on the outside, but once you knew him, he was a kind and gentle person. He loved his wife and son, Jacob. He enjoyed following all of Jacob’s musical endeavors as he has grown up. You could always see him videoing at every event. Tim enjoyed collecting Walt Disney memorabilia and Hot Wheels. Tim has made multiple trips to Disney over the years. He had the patience and skill to build numerous modal cars. Tim loved to garden and to grand dog sit, Jimbo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana on April 2, 2019; father, Clark Sexton, Jr.; step-father, Don Heiselman; his paternal and maternal grandparents; mother and father-in-law, Joyce and Gerald Rasco; and brother-in-law, David Suiter.
Survivors include his son, Jacob of Pampa; mother, Lavonne Heiselman of Jesup, Iowa; brother, Greg Sexton and Cindy Cable of Waterloo, Iowa; sisters, Margaret “Peg” Suiter and spouse Mike Madorin of Jesup, Iowa and Angela “Ange” Miller and spouse Gary Miller of Dike, Iowa; sister-in-law, Kristy Wheeler and husband James of Amarillo; brother-in-law, Gary Higgins and wife Vonda of Pampa; nephew, Damen Weltzin and wife Melissa of Jesup, Iowa; nieces, Callie Carson and husband Tyler of Central Center, Iowa and Jenna Miller and Scott Mau of Cedar Falls, Iowa; great nephews, , Gable Weltzin, Oliver Weltzin, Milo Carson, and expecting another one in November; and great nieces, Layla Miller and Haydon Weltzin.
