Tommy Dean Lacher

Tommy Dean Lacher, 83, of Pampa, entered into Glory with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Amarillo.

Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, October 1, 2021 at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Hudson, pastor, officiating and Pastor Bob Hudson, retired Baptist minister, assisting. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Tommy Lacher was born on July 24, 1938 in Madill, Oklahoma to Maybell and Noah Lacher. Tommy Lacher attended school in Chilocco, Oklahoma, graduating from high school at the age of 18 from Chilocco Indian Boarding School. He later enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War. After his service in the Army, he moved to Pampa and where he was saved in Pampa. He moved back to Ada, Oklahoma where he met the love of his life, Faye Lacher. They were married on December 6, 1976 and celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary this past year. Together they served in many areas of ministry and evangelism. Over the course of his lifetime, Tommy never met someone he never preached the gospel to. He moved his family back to Pampa 1996 and worked as a bus driver for Pampa ISD. He was professional courier for most of his life. Tommy enjoying driving and while on the road he was known for picking up hitchhikers and ministering to them. He led his children in word and in deed, teaching the value of a life of service and faithfulness to God. Tommy Lacher and Faye not only raised ten children of their own they also welcomed into their home and mentored several other young people in their time of need. He attended Bible Baptist Church for the last 25 years. The influence Tommy Lacher had and the people he led to the Lord shall live on eternally. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maybell Lacher and Noah Lacher; his brother, David Lacher; his sister, Dorothy Lacher; and his grandson, Kyler Dewayne Lacher.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Faye Lacher of the home; his daughters, Jo Lacher of Mesa, AZ, Tracy Gernhardt and husband Tim of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Tonya West and husband Jerred of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Erica Welsh and husband Marshall, Abigail Muñoz and husband Ed, and Laura Lacher, all of Pampa; his sons; Greg Lacher of Evansville, Indiana, Gary Anderson and wife Becky, Craig Lacher, Bobby Lacher and wife Marisol, all of Pampa his sister, Dottie Lacher of Ada, Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
