Tony Dell Richardson, 83, of Pampa, died on Monday May 16, 2022, in Pampa surrounded by family.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, May 20, 2022 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Tony was born on May 4, 1939 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma to Emmitt and Helen Richardson. He attended school and graduated in Ninnekah High School in 1956. Tony chased his great love, Patricia for many years and finally convinced her to marry on February 14, 1958. They were married 1 month shy of 60 years before she passed away on January 8, 2018. Tony learned at a very young age how to take care of himself and knew he wanted more for his life. Being a ranch hand didn’t provide what they needed for his growing family like he had planned. He heard about the oil boom in the Texas Panhandle and moved his family from Oklahoma. Tony found work in Pampa at Jones-Everett as a Machinist. He started L&R Machine with a partner in the early 70’s. In 1985, he started Pampa Machine & Supply, Inc., with a partner and many years later became the sole owner. He was truly dedicated to his work and being a mentor to the people around him. Tony felt his employees were more like family and he loved and cared for each one of them. He lit up every room with his ornery, yet gentle personality. Tony will always be remembered for all the smiles, and jokes he brought to many.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Anthony Dell Richardson; and a brother and sister.
Survivors include his 2 daughters, Debbie Rohling and husband Randall and LaPrinia Richardson all of Chickasha, Oklahoma; sister, Betty Hall Richardson of Pampa; 5 grandchildren, Tony Ledrick and wife Haley of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Lindsey McCormick and husband Bryan of Pampa, Lauren Couts of Pampa, Ryne Richardson of Austin, and Marlee Richardson of Pampa; and 7 great grandchildren.
