Travis L. Lester, 74, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Pampa.

Travis was born on November 10, 1947 in Kemp to Johnny and Lois Lester. He attended schools in Kemp and in Dallas. Sometime after school, he began working for the City of Dallas in the sanitation department. On May 1, 1978, he married Terrie Ross. The two shared three children together, before later separating. He moved his family to Fort Worth in 1981, where they stayed for fifteen years. In 1996, the Lesters moved to Pampa. Travis enjoyed fixing mowers and was commonly called the “Lawn Mower Man” by his friends. If he was able, he wanted to fix things himself. Travis was a very handy man. In his spare time, Travis would watch movies and TV. He also spent time with family, often babysitting the grandkids.

Travis is preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; and a brother, Bill Lester.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff Lester and Ray Lester, both of Pampa; his daughter, Teresa Villareal of Pampa; stepsons, Billy Hardy and wife Tonya and Richard Hardy and wife Julie, all of Pampa; one brother, Johnny Lester and wife Lucille of Jacksonville; two sisters-in-law, Julie Hester and husband Tommy of Pampa, and Kelly Clark of Amarillo; step-father, Dwayne Dahl of Pampa; several grandkids; and numerous other relatives.
