Verne Roger Cave

February 23, 1960 — December 9, 2021

Verne Roger Cave, Jr., 61, of Pampa, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 9, 2021.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Jim Rigsby, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Verne was born on February 23, 1960 in Amarillo, Texas to Verne and Helen Canady Cave. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1978 and graduated from Amarillo College in 1997. Verne's career in contracting, along with the oilfield, had him living in many places, from California, to Colorado, and all the way to Saudi Arabia. However, Pampa has always been his home. Verne was a jack of all trades and would go out of his way to help any friend, loved one, or stranger. He married Peggy Musick on February 22, 2007 in Pampa, where he lived until his passing. He would start so many projects with his wife and sons because he loved being able to work on the projects with them. Out of his many skills, he was the best at being a great dad and would always try his hardest to become even better.

Verne loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycles and would use his passion to assist charities. He was involved in the Open Doors Club and Primary Purpose AA and would help anyone he possibly could, no matter the circumstance. Verne was 26 years sober. He loved to help others and never once met a stranger who didn't become a friend. He only saw the good in people and wanted the best for them.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Verne is survived by his wife, Peggy of Pampa; three sons, Cameron Cave and fiancé David De Leon of Fort Worth, Levi Cave and wife Haylee of Amarillo, and Jake Milligan of Pampa; one sister, Betty Stanford and husband Derrell of Fritch; four grandchildren; two nephews, Bobby Parker and David Parker; one niece, Tina Kimble; and his close friend and brother, Bobby Burns.

Memorials may be made to PAWS, 811 S Hobart St, Pampa, Texas, 79065 or Primary Purpose AA, 112 West Foster Ave, Pampa, Texas, 79065.
