Victor Belknap

Victor A.G. Belknap, 81, of Pampa, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 19, 2026. He was reunited with the love of his life, his wife, Linda, whom he dearly missed.

Memorial graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 24, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Victor was born on July 28, 1944, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Allen R.G. Belknap and Fannie Cora McCulley Belknap. At just 17 years old, with his mother's signature, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. His service reflected the selflessness that would define his entire life. While serving his country, Victor sent his entire military paycheck home to help provide for his younger brothers and sisters, always placing the needs of his family before his own.

On December 30, 1971, Victor married Linda Evans in Pampa. Together they built a life centered on faith, hard work, and family.

Victor was truly a jack of all trades. He could fix just about anything and enjoyed working with his hands. He especially loved driving trucks, a career that suited his independent spirit and strong work ethic. Though he was known for his many talents, those who knew Victor best knew that his greatest passion was his family. He never hesitated to sacrifice his own comfort to ensure those he loved were cared for.

His family fondly remembers a story that perfectly captured Victor's character. During a visit with his friend, Rufe Jordan, Victor was asked why his boots had holes worn through the soles. Without hesitation, Victor simply smiled and replied, "My family comes first." Those words were more than an answer, they were the way he lived every day of his life.

Victor will be remembered as a humble, hardworking man whose quiet acts of love and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Belknap; his parents, Allen and Fannie Belknap; an infant son, Daniel Belknap; brothers, Bud Belknap and Lee Roy Belknap; and sisters, Mae Beth Belknap, Nancy Davis, Judy Farquhar, and Tressie Jo Allen (Jody) Whitehead.

Survivors include his daughters, Sacora Belknap of Pampa and Patricia “Trish” Powell of Amarillo; grandchildren, Aaron Stukey and husband Clayton of Amarillo and Ryan Belknap of Pampa, Chris Powell and wife Bre of Amarillo, and Lora Miller of Yukon, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Lansin Schmidt and Ellie Schmidt; his sister, Peachola Greene; numerous nieces and nephews; and familly friends, Steve Powell, and Jason Brown.
