Willa Maxine Kenney

Willa Maxine Kenney, 93, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 in Pampa. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Willa was born on December 16, 1927 in Spearman to Eldred and Verna Williams Kenney. She grew up in Spearman and was a graduate of Spearman High School. Willa moved to Amarillo, after graduation, where she attended business school. She later work for KAMQ radio station as a receptionist. Willa also worked as a model for few years. She moved all over the country before settling in Pampa in 2006. Willa enjoyed writing poetry and stories and sewing until she was no longer able to. She will be remembered as a strong-willed woman with a passion for life. Willa was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Lonnie Kenney, Earl Kenney, and Byron Kenney; and 1 sister, Helen Kenney. She is survived by her 2 children, Doug Johnston and Janet Johnston, both of Pampa; 3 grandchildren, Martha Stromberger, Trevor Johnston, and Wendy Johnston; 2 great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Christy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
