Wilma Helms

On Monday, July 6, 2020 Wilma Helms loving wife and mother of three, passed away at the age of 81 in Pampa.

Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, July 10, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Paul Nachtigall, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Wilma was born on July 8, 1938 in Indianola, Oklahoma to Roy And Clarabell Estes. She married Alvin Helms on December 20, 1954. Shortly after their marriage, Wilma and Alvin moved to Pampa in 1955 and have resided ever since. The raised three loving children, her two daughters, Glenda and Debra and their son, David. Mrs. Helms worked in several industries and positions which included the Marie Foundation, Wagner Well Service and both the Worley Hospital and Pampa Regional Medical Center. Wilma like to the outdoors where she enjoyed camping and fishing. She will be remembered as loving wife and an awesome mother and grandmother.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jessie Brandt; and a granddaughter, Mandy Medley.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin Helms of the home; two daughters, Glenda Bye of Pampa and Debra Thomas and husband Tim, all of Pampa; one son, David Helms and friend, Linda Davis of Pampa; three sisters, Clara Gray of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Linda Kay Ketchum of McAllister, Oklahoma, and Peggy Johnson of Canadian; three brothers, Frank Estes of Crowder, Oklahoma, Roy Dell Williams of McAllister, Oklahoma, and Dennis Ray Williams and wife Darlene of Indianola, Oklahoma; by her 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren and other extended family.
